H.E. Ambassador Tesfaye Yetayeh held a discussion with H.E. Mr. Eli Cohen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel on 22 August 2023, at the Minister’s office. Their discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and the current situation in Ethiopia.
During the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Tesfaye briefed the current situation in Amhara Region, The declaration of the State of emergency was necessitated by the need to restore law and order in the affected areas. He stated that efforts are underway to bring about peaceful solutions through dialogue and community engagement.
H.E.Mr. Eli Cohen, on his part, pointed out that he was following what is going on in Amhara region and the current situation in Ethiopia indicates that the security problem will be solved and the country will return to normalcy shortly.
